Job summary

John Knox Village of Central Florida is seeking a Cook 1 to assist with daily pantry and station prep, fry and other kitchen areas. You will expedite Cook 1 tasks during service and ensure timely production of all menu items.

The role requires knowledge of cooking techniques, adherence to recipes, and strong sanitation practices. You will also assist in maintaining cleanliness of kitchens, walk-ins, and storage areas for safe operations.

Qualifications

• Background screening will be completed (Level 2).
• Broad knowledge of cooking techniques and sauces.
• Able to read, write and speak English for safety and communication.

Job Summary: Responsible for the daily preparation of food items in the pantry, fry and/or stations or other areas of the kitchen. Responsible for Cook 1 employees in expediting various job assignments as needed during the service and preparation of all food items.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines.
• Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
• Restocks all items as needed throughout shift.
• Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills.
• Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
• Ensure food quality and presentation meet established high standards through broad knowledge of cooking techniques, stock and soup preparation and ability to make all five mother sauces.

Educational, Physical, And Other Requirements

• Employee should have a broad knowledge of cooking techniques, stock and soup preparation and ability to make all five mother sauces.
• Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all kitchen equipment.

• Must have good hand, arm and finger dexterity.
