Job summary

Palmetto Goodwill Services seeks a skilled cook to prepare meals in large quantities using diverse cooking methods, including meat, poultry, fish, vegetables. You will follow Armed Forces recipes and maintain sanitary kitchens.

Responsibilities include supervising food preparation, managing costs, ensuring safety, keeping work areas clean, and following agency policies. Five years of volume food prep experience preferred, with ability to obtain security clearance per contract.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals in large quantities following prescribed recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions in all work areas and equipment.
• Assist in developing food cost controls and monitor the food budget.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and agency policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by shift Lead Cook.

EssentialDutiesandResponsibilities Responsiblefortheoverallpreparationofmealsandmaintainingthecleanlinessofworkareas. StrictlyadheretoandpreparemealsaccordingtotheArmedForcesRecipeServiceandthefood preparationworksheet.

Completethefoodpreparationworksheetatthecompletionofeachmeal. Assistindevelopingfoodcostandcontrol/monitorfoodbudget. Maintainallworkareas,equipmentandcookutensilsinacleanandsanitarycondition. Maintainproperlevelsofsafetyprecautionsinallactivitiesperformed. Ensureallassignedemployeesandclienttraineesmeetallsafetyrequirements.Reportanyfailuresof equipmentandpersonneltomeetpostedsafetyprecautionstosupervisors. ReportallinoperativeequipmenttotheLeadCook. EnsureallGoodwillIndustriesandNavalpoliciesandproceduresarefollowed. Assurethatallsuppliesandfoodproductsarehandledasprescribedbyagencypoliciesandgood securitypractices.

EducationandExperience Five(5)years’experienceinvolumefoodpreparation.Experienceinasupervisorpositionpreferred.
