Overview

The Cook is responsible for consistent cooking, preparing, and garnishing of quality food product. This position is instrumental in maintaining a clean, organized, and harmonious kitchen.

Responsibilities
  1. Follow kitchen safety procedures at all times.
  2. Follow handwashing and other personal and kitchen sanitation procedures at all times.
  3. Report safety, sanitation, and other similar violations to the chef.
  4. Operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment according to instructions.
  5. Set up stations, including utensils, equipment, and other needed items.
  6. Receive and store food according to standards, ensuring proper rotation and temperatures.
  7. Review production schedule at the beginning of each shift to ensure all items are stocked.
  8. Ensure all items are prepared according to recipe cards, plating guides, and photographs.
  9. Maintain cleanliness continually by disposing of trash, wiping down work areas, cleaning equipment, and returning utensils.
  10. Follow governmental health and safety guidelines and handle toxic substances properly.
  11. Maintain positive and professional communication with all staff.
  12. Participate in meetings to learn about new products, procedures, and opportunities.
  13. Ensure a safe work environment for co-workers and guests.
  14. Be knowledgeable about property facilities and services to assist guests proactively.
  15. Promote property outlets to guests.
  16. Assist guests with directions and find locations within the property.
  17. Resolve guest complaints following property procedures.
  18. Create a positive environment to maximize employee potential.
  19. Listen to feedback to improve personal and property performance.
  20. Work as part of a team to deliver exceptional service.
  21. Participate in shift meetings.
  22. Always greet guests and colleagues warmly.
