Location

Come and join our team at this 605-room convention center hotel in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. Our luxury hotel is located next to the Paycom Center (OKC Thunder), the Oklahoma Convention Center, and across the street from the 70-acre Scissortail Park.

The property includes an all-day dining outlet (Seltzer's Modern Diner), an entertainment sports bar (OKC Tap House), a specialty restaurant (Bob's Steak & Chop House), a coffee shop (Park Grounds), and a retail outlet (RareBird Gift Shop). Guests can also enjoy Mokara Spa, a fitness center, and a rooftop pool and bar (CatBird Seat) with a fire pit, outdoor lawn, and cabanas. The hotel offers 76,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including a 20,000 square foot ballroom, a 10,000 square foot ballroom, and a 4,200 square foot outdoor pre-function space overlooking the park.

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of a fantastic Omni convention hotel. The Omni Oklahoma City Hotel is a destination for outdoor recreation, entertainment, and culinary experiences, celebrating both the heritage and modern progress of the city. With 605 guest rooms and suites, the hotel offers views of Scissortail Park and the downtown skyline, along with 75,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a sports bar, a specialty restaurant, a coffee shop, and retail venues.

The Cook 1 will ensure high-quality standards and procedures in preparing and serving all banquet food.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen sanitation according to health department guidelines.
• Ensure the station is set for service 15 minutes prior to the start.
• Learn all menu items produced by the assigned station.
• Perform work assignments to meet proper quantities within the necessary time frame.
• Prepare a variety of buffet and plated items.
• Produce orders including grilling, roasting, and baking fish, steaks, chicken, and shellfish.
• Maintain safe food handling procedures at all times.

Qualifications

• Advanced knife skills required.
• Minimum 4 years of banquet culinary experience, preferably in a high-volume upscale hotel banquet operation.
• Familiarity with all cooking techniques.
• Experience with batch and quantity cooking.
• Ability to multi-task effectively.
• Ability to stand, walk for long periods, and lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Food Handler's permit required.
• Must reside within 50 miles of the hotel.
