City Experiences is seeking Cooks for its City Cruises Operation in Norfolk, VA.

About the Opportunity:

The Cook is responsible for food preparation and production, contributing to galley operations including receiving and storing provisions, and ensuring safety and hospitality in interactions with coworkers and guests.

About You:

You will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect food preparation and service areas for safe, sanitary practices
  • Provide exceptional hospitality to coworkers and guests as per Our Service System (OSS)
  • Prepare high-quality food following recipes and specifications
  • Manage hot line food orders; portion, garnish, and arrange food for service
  • Store food and supplies properly, monitor temperatures, and rotate stock
  • Assist in cleaning the galley, equipment, and surfaces
  • Greet guests, describe dishes, and deliver food to the expediting station
  • Maintain buffet areas and monitor food and supplies during service
  • Stock hot boxes with food according to par levels
  • Complete and review Buffet Maintenance Checklist with the manager

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Arrive at work on time
  • Maintain a professional appearance and grooming
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of kitchen experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Energetic, enthusiastic personality
  • Ability to follow directions closely
  • Effective communication skills
  • Service-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work extended periods standing and lift heavy items
  • Availability to work on major holidays
  • Must meet minimum age requirements and be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
