Location

Come and join our team at this 605-room convention center hotel in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. Our luxury hotel is located next to the Paycom Center (OKC Thunder), the Oklahoma Convention Center, and across the street from the 70-acre Scissortail Park.

The property includes an all-day dining outlet (Seltzer's Modern Diner), an entertainment sports bar (OKC Tap House), a specialty restaurant (Bob's Steak & Chop House), a coffee shop (Park Grounds), and a retail outlet (RareBird Gift Shop). Guests can enjoy Mokara Spa, a fitness center, and a rooftop pool and bar (CatBird Seat) with a fire pit, outdoor lawn, and cabanas. The hotel offers 76,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including a 20,000 square foot ballroom, a 10,000 square foot ballroom, and a 4,200 square foot outdoor pre-function space overlooking the park.

Job Description

Become a vital part of the Omni Oklahoma City Hotel, a premier destination for outdoor recreation, entertainment, and culinary excellence that celebrates the city's heritage and modern progress. With 605 guest rooms and suites, scenic views of Scissortail Park and the downtown skyline, and extensive meeting space, the hotel offers a dynamic environment for culinary professionals.

The Banquet Cook 1 will uphold high standards in preparing and serving banquet foods, ensuring quality and consistency.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain kitchen sanitation in accordance with health department guidelines.
2. Ensure the station is set for service 15 minutes prior to start.
3. Learn all menu items produced by the assigned station.
4. Perform work assignments to meet proper quantities within necessary timeframes.
5. Prepare a variety of buffet and plated items.
6. Cook fish, steaks, chicken, and shellfish through grilling, roasting, and baking techniques.
7. Adhere to safe food handling procedures at all times.

Qualifications

1. Advanced knife skills are required.
2. Minimum 4 years of banquet culinary experience, preferably in a high-volume upscale hotel banquet operation.
3. Familiarity with all cooking techniques.
4. Experience with batch and quantity cooking.
5. Ability to multi-task effectively.
6. Capability to stand/walk for long periods and lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
7. Flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
8. Food Handler's permit is required.
9. Must reside within 50 miles of the hotel.
