About This Position

Must have proven cooking experience

The Cook is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing a variety of food items in accordance with work instructions, menus, and guidelines while following food safety and handling procedures. The role requires experience in preparing hot and cold food items and all standardized knife cuts. Candidates should be able to multi-task, stay calm under pressure, and communicate effectively with team members to produce dishes timely.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Refer to Daily Prep List at shift start and complete opening/closing checklists
• Set up workstation with ingredients and equipment
• Use kitchen utensils safely, including knives
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
• Follow portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen policies
• Properly handle, store, label, and rotate products
• Maintain sufficient food levels at stations
• Understand menu items and prep ingredients accordingly
• Handle hot and cold conditions during food prep
• Physical demands include lifting, bending, standing for long periods
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, at least 18 years old
• Minimum 1 year of relevant cooking experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Experience in a cafeteria or large-volume kitchen preferred
• Knowledge of safety procedures in food service
