Job summary

Citadel Healthcare in Wilmette is seeking a Cook to join our team. The Cook prepares and serves resident meals using proper food handling and safety techniques, ensuring meals meet nutritional guidelines and safety standards while treating residents with respect.

Responsibilities include reviewing menus, inspecting diet trays, completing required forms, following dietary procedures, helping establish meal production lines, and processing diet changes from nursing and dietary staff.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must read recipes and convert ingredients to different serving sizes.
• Must cook a variety of foods in large quantities.

CookQualifications and Skills:

Cook Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two or more years of cooking experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
