Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Food Handler Certification
• SERVSAFE certification required upon hire
• IA/IL Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training within 90 days
• IA/IL Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training within 90 days
• 6 to 12 months of cooking experience in a healthcare or restaurant setting preferred

• Prepare, assemble, and deliver patient trays, snacks, and nourishments per diet specifications
• Serve patients, guests, and cafeteria customers with excellent customer service
• Follow portion control, cash handling, and regulatory standards (HIPAA, OSHA, TJC)
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, equipment, and carts
• Stock patient units, retail areas, and storage rooms, and monitor food and equipment temperatures
• Cook and prepare foods according to standardized recipes, paying attention to times and temperatures

This is a temp to hire position.

TheFood Service Workerprovides safe,timely, andaccuratepreparation, assembly, delivery, and clean-up of meals and food items for patients, residents, and guests. The Cook position is responsible for the preparation and cooking of food for hospital patients, associates, and visitors. Maintains a clean workstation and uses recipes and temperature logs to ensure quality and safety standards are met. role supports quality care and customer satisfaction by following department procedures, food safety and sanitation guidelines, and customer service standards.
