VBPC offers acute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adults 18 years and older. Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center currently has a full-time Cook/Kitchen Staff position available. Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays. The Cook/Kitchen Staff will prepare food for meals and special functions as needed, including patient and staff trays, salads, and desserts. Responsibilities also include serving food to patients, staff, and guests, as well as performing cleaning, stocking, maintenance, sanitation, and trash removal tasks.
The position requires: a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational or formal culinary education is preferred. Knowledge of food service, safety, and sanitation is required. ServSafe Certification is preferred. Experience in cooking and meal prep within a facility setting is also preferred.
