Salary Range $22.03 - $27.54*

Cook

The Cook assists main restaurant associates in maintaining high quality food items while keeping a focus on cost control and inventory management. The role supports daily menu production, special events, and overall kitchen efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Produce and coordinate the preparation of daily menu items and special event dishes.
• Control daily and weekly inventories, using production and build‑to sheets to manage waste.
• Keep the team informed of inventory cost and profitability.
• Check in with the supervisor for any special preparation prior to normal kitchen tasks.
• Coordinate daily menu production using menu count and production sheets.
• Check inventory for all menu items.
• Communicate supply needs to the head cook.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to health and sanitation standards.
• Maintain kitchen equipment daily and report malfunctions.
• Communicate with associates promptly to maintain flow of food orders.
• Verify and fulfill all special orders with the designated associate.
• Keep up with supply demands and minimize waste.
• Close and sanitize the work area according to health codes, preparing for the next day’s production.
• Report required supplies to the supervisor.
• Check in with the supervisor before leaving.
• Uphold all health and sanitation standards as directed by Neiman Marcus, local health departments and third‑party auditors.
