Description

Hourly: $23- $26 per hour


Position Summary:


Children's Aid runs a summer day camp in Chappaqua, NY that brings together children from Manhattan, the Bronx, and Westchester. Campers and staff are bused to and from the camp each day. The purpose of this camp is to provide traditional summer camp activities (swimming, arts & crafts, sports, horsemanship, etc.) in the context of relationship building. The children who attend this camp are from different socio-economic, cultural, and racial backgrounds, and range in age from 6-13


The Cook is responsible for preparing 600 Lunches program. The menu for the Summer Day Camp. The Cook is supervised by the Kitchen Supervisor. The Cook needs to implement the menu as directed by the meal plan and in collaboration with the Kitchen Supervisor.


Essential Duties:



  • Cook meals and maintain sanitary conditions

  • Monitor the meals and provide additional food as needed

  • Prepare special meals for campers with special dietary needs.

  • Keep Kitchen clean and orderly

  • Dispose of all garbage and recycling in proper dumpsters.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Possess a Food Handler's Certificate.

  • 3 years of experience as a chef cooking for 400 individuals.

  • Experience in the management and organization of kitchen staff.

  • Knowledge of USDA and Health Codes pertaining to food service
