Personal Touch Food Service, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Cook to join our school cafeteria team at Iroquois High School.

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to students and staff in a safe, clean, and efficient environment that supports a positive dining experience. This position offers a Monday-Friday schedule from 8am to 1pm, following the school calendar, with no evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior cooking experience in a school, cafeteria, or commercial kitchen preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes, food safety procedures, and production schedules.
• Must pass background checks per NYS and school district guidelines.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items per recipes.
• Ensure food is cooked and held at proper temperatures.
• Assist with food prep, portioning, and service during meals.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness.
• Monitor inventory and notify supervisor of needs.
• Receive and store deliveries properly.
• Comply with health regulations and policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Work with kitchen and cafeteria staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with planned menus and standardized recipes
• Ensure all food is cooked and held at proper temperatures
• Assist with food prep, portioning, and service during meal periods
• Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness
• Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisor of supply needs
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries properly
• Comply with all federal, state, and local health regulations, as well as school and company policies
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and cafeteria staff
