Job summary

Aria of Brookfield is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare meals for residents in a caring, compliant kitchen that adheres to federal, state, and local standards. You will work with our dietetic team to ensure meals meet planned menus and therapeutic needs while maintaining safety and quality.

As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will keep the kitchen clean, stock supplies, follow infection control policies, and support daily dietary operations to promote residents' well‑being and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparing food.
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus, ensuring palatability and appearance.

• Inspect diet trays to ensure correct diets are served.
• Serve food with proper portion control and timing.
• Support daily cleaning duties and maintain a clean, safe kitchen area.
• Ensure proper storage of food supplies and equipment.

Cook Job Overview:

The primary purpose of this position is to prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedure, and as maybe directed by the Head Cook, Registered Dietician and / or Director of Dietary Services.

Cook Job Responsibilities:

• Review menus prior to preparing food.
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus, ensure meals are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
• Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the residents.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Prepare and serve bedtime snacks.
• Be sure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident’s meal tray.
• Review care plans to assure that the current food information is consistent with foods served.
• Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse foods served.
• Follow established infection control precautions policies and procedure when performing daily task.
• Assist / direct daily or schedule cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensure that the department is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained.
• Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all time.
