Job summary

CoolWorks.com is seeking a Cook for a rustic Dude Ranch in Del Rio, Tennessee. You’ll join a Hospitality team of 4–5 people at peak season, focusing on warm, family-style meals and guest comfort.

You will prepare and serve three meals daily in season, assist with room turnovers, and cross-train for other ranch duties. Expect seasonal shifts and some solo work during quiet periods, with a strong emphasis on trust and home-style cooking.

Job description

The Cook's position is part of the Hospitality team about 4-5 people in high season and smaller in non summer months. Main area is the kitchen and lodge area which would include meals and cleanliness. The Cook prepares and serves 3 family-style meals per day during the seasons. Fall/Winter is usually 2 to 10 people served per day unless there is a corporate/church group attending. You will also help with room turnovers and refreshing as part of the hospitality team between meals. Parts of the year sometimes you will be working solo during low guest periods.

We seek an individual we can trust to do the best job possible helping to make home cooked meals that are served family style. Our meals are southern style home cooking. We are fine with non culinary degree cooks as we prefer home trained people. So if you learned from your "mamma" this might be the job for you.

Your Fall/Winter work schedule is typically 700am to 130pm and then back for supper 330pm to 7pm. 6 days per week. There might be extra unpaid days off during zero guests periods. IF you turn into a year round employee the summer starts at 630am then same as above but it is a 5 1/2 day week.

This position can be turned into a year round position for qualified workers.

The posted yearly monthly salary also receives all living costs free as part of your pay ($1500 value-lodging, meals, utilities), quarterly merit pay (gratuity-tips) and 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year of service if year round. Total potential yearly earnings =$41,400.00 ($21,600 yearly salary [$1800/month] plus quarterly merit pay ($3600 yearly average with biggest pay out for summer) and $20,000 in yearly living expenses are supplied by the ranch. Raises come quickly to those that can get the job done!

During potential slow periods of no guests we cross train you to help feed horses and other outside chores.
