Job summary

Summit is seeking an experienced cook for its Superior, WI location at the Douglas County Jail. This full-time, onsite role requires working in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen focused on scratch cooking and delivering quality meals.

You will handle food preparation, portion control, presentation, storage, and safe handling in accordance with recipes and policies. A $500 signing bonus after 120 days is offered, and Summit/Elior North America provides medical, dental, vision, and other benefits

Qualifications

• At least one year of culinary experience in a high-volume establishment with emphasis on scratch cooking.
• Strong knowledge of proper culinary methods and standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use various kitchen equipment and tools and identify food items.
• Customer service experience is required.

We are looking to add an experienced cook to work with a highly motivated and energetic kitchen staff in our Superior, WI location for our correctional facility kitchen division. What we're looking for

Must-haves:

• At least one years’ prior culinary experience in a quality and high-volume establishment with an emphasis on scratch cooking
• Working knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques, and standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use various kitchen equipment and tools as well as identify and differentiate food items.
• Customer service experience is required.

Nice-to-haves:

• Food handlers’ certification

Compensation Range

$18.50 per hour
