Job summary

Holiday by Atria - Orchid Terrace is seeking a Cook to join the Dining Services team. You will prepare nutritious meals for residents, follow approved menus and recipes, and ensure a smooth kitchen operation with strict sanitation practices.

The role emphasizes resident satisfaction, accurate log maintenance, and timely, courteous service in a community setting. A minimum of 2 years’ cooking experience and good English communication are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the food industry or full-service restaurant cooking.
• Ability to follow Holiday recipes and maintain sanitation standards.
• Effective communication in English and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious meals following Holiday menus and recipes with portion control.
• Oversee serving carts setup and timely service.
• Maintain food safety, labeling, dating, and storage procedures.
• Ensure logs (refrigerator, freezer, production sheets) are completed.
• Adhere to sanitation standards across all kitchen areas.
• Address resident satisfaction and resolve food-related issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

In the role of Cook and member of the Dining Services team, you will be responsible to prepare nutritious, appetizing, and attractive meals for our residents and ensure a smooth, efficient and safe operation of the kitchen.

• Review menus and food-production instructions and prepare meals following Holiday menus and recipes while ensuring portion-control standards.
• Oversee preparation and set-up of serving carts to serve nutritious food, attractively garnished in a punctual manner.
• Follow food safe handling procedures in preparation as well as proper procedures for covering, labeling, dating, and storing food.
• Ensure logs are accurately completed in a timely manner. i.e., refrigerator, freezer and production sheets)
• Follow Holiday sanitation standards by effectively cleaning while working, including preparation and serving areas, pots and pans, kitchen surfaces, walls, and floors, using appropriate cleaning schedules and charts.
• Focus on resident satisfaction and resolve any food-compliant issues as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

The wage range for this position is $16.00/hr - $19.20/hr, dependent on prior work history and experience
