Job summary

Intermountain Health St George Regional Hospital is seeking a flexible cook to join our food service team. This PRN position covers line cook, prep cook, and retail cook duties, cooking from recipes, serving customers, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.

You will handle bulk food production, assist with dietary modifications as needed, and ensure safe food handling and equipment use while delivering meals in a patient-care setting. Flexibility and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work.
  • One or more year of experience as a Cook or Line Cook preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understands and prepares food according to modified diets when applicable.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize safe food handling techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and cooks food, serves customers, and completes other duties as assigned.
  • Follows recipes and instructions in the preparation of food items.
  • May prepare bulk food items and large‑scale production.
  • Maintains organized and sanitary working environment and proper production quantities.
  • Interacts with customers in catering, retail outlets or patient care settings.
  • May deliver patient meals, cashier, stock, and operate ware-washing equipment.

This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
