Job summary

Intermountain Health American Fork Hospital is seeking a Room Service Cook & Support to Other Retail Areas. This full-time role offers 36 hours per week with shifts across mornings and evenings; the hourly pay ranges from $19.31 to $25.11 based on experience.

You will prepare, cook, and serve food, follow recipes, and support multiple kitchen areas in a hospital setting. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and education assistance.

Qualifications

• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work.
• 1+ year of experience as a Cook in hospital or restaurant environment preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to utilize safe food handling techniques in all applications.
• Understands workflow, prioritizes, uses timelines and deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service (preferred).
• Understands and prepares food according to modified diets using appropriate techniques (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to utilize commercial cooking equipment (preferred).

• May be required to deliver patient meals, cashier, stock, use automatic and manual ware-washing machines.

• Pay Rate: Based on Experience ($19.31 - $25.11)
• Availability Needed: Sunday-Saturday for variable 8 hour work shifts
• Variable Shifts: 5:30am-2pm, 11:30am-8pm, 3:30pm-12am
• Required: rotating holiday and weekend coverage to support business needs

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
• Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work at a grill or in a refrigerator and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
