Dial Silvercrest Corp in Springfield, MO is seeking a Cook to independently prepare meals and support the kitchen team, ensuring quality and safety standards for residents.

You will adapt recipes for special dining needs, maintain cleanliness, and manage storage and inventory; prior senior living or healthcare experience is preferred.

The role includes participating in menu planning, recording temperatures in the TELS system, and contributing to a compassionate, resident-centered dining program.

Qualificações

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 2+ years of cooking experience in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals for residents with attention to quality and presentation.
• Alter or adapt recipes to accommodate special dining needs of residents or to improve recipes.
• Ensure attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving.
• Identify food and supplies needed for the next weeks menus and report to the supervisor.
• Participate in new menu and special menu planning.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and kitchen/storage areas.
• Ensure proper handling, labeling and storage of food for infection control.
• Prepare meats for storage and portion control upon delivery. Ensure proper storage of all delivered foods and ingredients.
• Assist with dishwashing and kitchen sanitation, as needed.
• Notify manager of food supply needs and malfunctioning equipment or appliances.
• Assist in the recording of Ready - to - Use - food items into the TELS website.
• Record cooler, freezer and dish machine temperatures in the TELS website.
• Report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
• Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations and personnel.

Position Summary

• Ensure attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving.
• Identify food and supplies needed for the next weeks menus and report to the supervisor.

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• 2+ years of cooking experience in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Strong knowledge of food safety and dietary guidelines
• State food-handling and kitchen regulations
• Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
• Operation of kitchen appliances (dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, coffee maker, ice machine, blender, food processor, meat slicer, mixer, etc.)
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServeSafe or equivalent certification is preferred
