Job summary

Bayberry Commons is seeking a Cook to join our healthcare dining team. You will prepare and serve meals per menus and recipes, while ensuring safety, timely service, and proper temperatures.

The role requires ability to lift heavy loads, maintain cleanliness, and accommodate special diets, with experience in healthcare or senior living as a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a cook in healthcare, senior living, or hospitality.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
• Ability to lift 40-50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• ServSafe, Food Handlers or equivalent food safety certification.
• Experience with therapeutic or specialized diets preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to established menus, recipes, and portion standards.
• Ensure meals are prepared safely, on time, and at proper serving temperatures.
• Accommodate resident dietary needs, including special diets, allergies, and texture modifications.
• Present food attractively and consistently, following Mosaic dining standards.
• Assist with plating, garnishing, and serving during peak times.
• Provide courteous, personalized service to residents and guests, fostering positive relationships.
• Clean and maintain the kitchen, food preparation areas, equipment, and dining spaces.
• Follow Mosaic’s cleaning schedules and infection control standards.
