Job summary

Guckenheimer is seeking a Cook to prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and catered events with focus on quality and safety. You will manage prep lists, execute recipes, and work with large equipment to deliver consistent meals across shifts.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of cooking experience or equivalent education, and can adhere to safety, HACCP, and production standards while maintaining clean work areas and timely service.

  • 1-year professional cooking experience or education equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of cooking and prep techniques.
  • Adherence to food safety guidelines and HACCP.

Responsibilities

  • Clock in and out for the workday and breaks.
  • Provide the highest quality of service per standards.
  • Follow food safety and HACCP guidelines daily.
  • Prepare items per production sheets or Chef directions.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment.
  • Notify management of ingredient discrepancies or safety issues.
  • Attend daily meetings.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Hourly WageBenefits are provided in accordance with the location’s Collective Bargaining Agreement. The hourly pay range for this position is $28.90 per hour - $28.90 per hour.Work HoursThe work hours for this position are approximately 5:30 am - 2:00 pm, Mon-Fri .Key PurposeThe Cook will accurately and efficiently fulfill prep lists, tasks, and food preparation for various meal periods to include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Guckenheimer may identify additional responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ from account to account, depending on the business needs and client requirements.Success CriteriaEnsure:Kitchen organization and cleanliness provide a safe environment for all employees and guestWorkplace Safety guidelines, policies, and SOPs are followed dailyFood Safety guidelines, policies, and SOPs are followed dailyHACCP guidelines, policies, and SOPs are followed dailyAll internal audit guidelines, policies, and SOPs are followed dailyAbility to work safely with large volume culinary equipment including slicer, large mixer, food processors, blenders, and chopperMinimum of 1-year professional cooking experience or education equivalentKey AccountabilitiesClock in and out for workday and clock in and out during breaksAlways provide the highest quality of service in accordance with Guckenheimer and client standardsUtilize food preparation procedures in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local guidelines and regulations to ensure high quality food service is providedBasic knowledge of cooking and prep techniques as required by your work assignmentExecute NetMenu recipe preparation of food items, as directed by production sheets and/or LC, SC, or Executive ChefClean and sanitize work areas and equipment and must follow Guckenheimer, and government regulatory rules and proceduresNotify management when there are any ingredient discrepancies/availability, food/equipment safety, or any other situation that requires management attentionAttend all meetings of the dayMay perform other duties and responsibilities as assignedPhysical Demands & Work EnvironmentWork in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)Reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 poundsUtilize team lift, transportation carts, and any other means of assistance when dealing with heavy loadsCome to work properly dressed according to the dress codeEmployee must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periodsHSEQ Compliance: All employees must adhere to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
