Job summary

Discovery Management Group is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our senior living community in Slidell, LA. You will prepare hot and cold items across grill, sauté, salad-bar and service line, following standardized recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency and quality.

Qualified candidates have prior senior living experience or food production background, strong organization, communication, and attention to presentation. Weekend availability required; comprehensive benefits are provided.

• Experience with production methods and food handling safety required.

Our community is looking for a Cook to join our team.

Cook Responsibilities:

• Prepare hot and cold menu items which requires working on the grill, sauté station, salad-bar and on the service line;
• Ensure the proper preparation, portioning and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and the standardized recipes;
• Taste and prepare food to determine quality and palatability.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in Senior Living preferred
• Experience with production methods, portion control and food handling safety required.
• Great organizational skills a must
• Strong communication skills
• Attention to detail and presentation of food product is required.
• Must be able to work weekends.
