Job summary

Advanced Rehab Center of Tustin is seeking a Cook to join our skilled nursing facility team. You will be responsible for preparing meals for residents while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment and following dietary guidelines.

Responsibilities include meal preparation, serving according to dietary requirements, adhering to menus, and sanitation per schedule. Prior healthcare food service experience and Food Handlers certification are preferred; ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in food service or healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to read and follow menus, recipes and instructions.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines; Food Handlers Certification.

Job description

We are seeking a Cook to join our team at a Skilled Nursing Facility. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing the meals to residents, as well as maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

• In charge of meal preparation and cooking.


• In charge of preparation and serving of meals according to dietary requirements and portion control


• Follow menus and prepare food items as directed by the Dietary Manager


• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas as assigned on cleaning schedule


• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines


• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Prior experience in food service or healthcare setting preferred


• Ability to read and follow menus, recipes, and instructions


• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines, Food Handlers Certification


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
