Job summary

HCA Florida Northside Hospital in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our food services team. You will prepare, season, and cook meals for patients, staff and visitors, while reviewing menus and ensuring timely service.

The role emphasizes portion control and waste reduction through standardized recipes and HACCP compliance. You will mentor new staff and support ordering, inventory, and sanitation in a fast-paced hospital kitchen.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years cooking experience in healthcare or large-scale food service.
• Ability to review menus and plan quantities.

Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

• You will prepares, seasons, and cook food for patients, staff, visitors, and special functions.
• You will review menus to determine types and quantities of food.
• You Prepares quality food in sufficient quantities to cover all service requirements.
• You will coordinate timing of preparation in order to meet service schedules for patients, staff, visitors and catering services.
• You will adhere to standardization of recipes and portion control to prevent food waste and control cost.
• You will provide care and sanitation of equipment in production area.
• You will adhere to sanitation and safety standards (HACCP)
• You will participate in the process of ordering supplies.
• You will give directions to personnel who assist in food preparation.
• You will orient and mentors new staff members.
