Juniper Springs Senior Living - Redmond, OR - JN is seeking a Cook to prepare meals, deliver, and maintain a clean dining environment in accordance with health department regulations. You will work under the Dining Services Director to ensure meals are nutritious, appealing, and properly served for residents.

This role emphasizes teamwork, welcoming elders and families, maintaining safe work areas, and following infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Formal culinary training or equivalent experience as a cook.
• Willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Food handlers permit or ability to obtain one as required by state regulations.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers.
• Pass a criminal background check.

Responsabilités

What You'll do

The Cook is responsible for meal preparation, delivery, and cleanliness under appropriate health department regulations. This position assists in maintaining a positive physical and social environment for the elders.

As a Cook, you can expect a range of responsibilities and tasks. Here are some general expectations:

• You will prep and prepare meals under the guidance of the Dining Services Director.
• You will ensure meals are prepared in a nutritional, appetizing fashion and presented attractively.
• You will help the Dining Services Director orient new team members and schedule.
• You will greet elders, families, visitors, and team members, creating a friendly, positive environment.
• You will ensure equipment is maintained and work areas are clean, safe, and orderly.
• You will adhere to procedures regarding infection control and foodborne illness prevention.

What You'll Bring

• You will be formally trained in the culinary arts or have equivalent experience as a cook.
• You will bring a willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
