Job summary

Trustwell Living of Raytown is seeking a Line Cook to join our care-focused kitchen. This part-time role involves preparing meals for residents, reading recipes, and working with a friendly team to deliver tasty, properly portioned dishes on time.

You will keep stations clean, help with deliveries when needed, and ensure food safety and appealing presentation. We offer full benefits, generous PTO, and a 401K match to full-time team members.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or knowledge of meal preparation for large groups.
• Ability to read and understand recipes; work in a team environment.
• Able to work flexible shifts and handle multiple tasks.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for residents respecting portion sizes and recipes.
• Serve meals hot and on time; ensure safe handling and presentation.
• Maintain clean workstations, utensils, and equipment; assist with deliveries as needed.
• Ensure food is safe, fresh, and rotated; support staff during service.

What You’ll Be Stirring Up:

• Whip up tasty meals in just the right portions: raw ingredients, hearty staples, and fresh flavors
• Serve it up hot and on time, every time
• Keep it clean ; workstations, utensils, and equipment sparkle with your touch
• Make sure food is safe, fresh, and rotated
• Help stock up and check deliveries when the Food Service Director isn’t around
• Take pride in presentation and aim to impress every plate

Qualifications:

• Experience and/or knowledge of meal preparation for large groups. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner for residents.
• Must enjoy working with the elderly and all who associate with them. Must be able to interact with residents who are highly susceptible to common illnesses without exposing them to additional health risks.
