Job summary

Poultry Science Association is seeking a dedicated kitchen team member to prepare meats and related dishes according to our recipes. You will maintain portion sizes, ensure quality, and keep work areas clean while adhering to kitchen policies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using broilers, ovens, fryers, grills, and other kitchen equipment according to recipes.
  • Maintain standard portions, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure smooth service.
  • Portion out food products before cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, ovens, burners, and refrigeration.
  • Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
  • Handle, store, and rotate products properly.
  • Follow the closing checklist to close the kitchen properly.
  • Attend all scheduled team member meetings.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to add and subtract two and three-digit numbers and perform these operations using units of American money.
  • Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
  • Food Handler Certification is required.
