Job summary

Lifespace Communities is seeking a part-time Cook to join Village on the Green in Longwood, FL. You will prepare meals according to menus and recipes for residents and guests, ensuring timely plating and presentation for each service.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of prep cook experience, with state Safe Food Handling certification if applicable. Emphasis on food safety, cleanliness, and teamwork within a residential dining setting.

Overview

Position: Cook (Part-time)

Location: Village on the Green, 500 Village Place, Longwood, FL 32779

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Range: $16.10–$22.15 per hour

Schedule: Part-time, 11:00 am – 7:30 pm, 3 days per week

Responsibilities
  • Prepare all food items per menu requirements following designated recipes.
  • Prepare plates and garnish food items to be served to residents and guests.
  • Prepare food production to coordinate with meal service hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved.
  • Ensure food safety by monitoring food temperatures and using proper food storage techniques in accordance with state and local standards.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work area; clean cooking equipment and other areas of the kitchen as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience as a prep cook or similar position.
  • State certification in Safe Food Handling and Sanitation if a state program exists.
