Job summary

Continental Services is seeking a Cook to support our Hanon department with daily meal preparation and service. This role requires following recipes, maintaining sanitation, and presenting meals with quality and consistency.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm. The candidate should have basic knife skills, food safety knowledge, and the ability to work independently at their station, while collaborating with the team to ensure a positive dining experience for guests.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years cooking experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food handling, sanitation and safety.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and measure ingredients.
  • Serve Safe and allergen certification preferred.
  • Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Culinary education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality food product and product presentation.
  • Follow daily recipes and maintain clean, organized work area and proper sanitation.
  • Demonstrate knife skills and proper cooking techniques (braising, sauté, sear, grill).
  • Provide a positive customer experience and engage with guests.
  • Communicate effectively with team and be flexible to changing needs.

Compensation: $19.00 - $21.00 / hour

Description

Responsible for creating a consistent quality product and culinary experience, while also providing exceptional customer service, presentation, and a clean and safe eating environment.

Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 1. Working knowledge about food handling, food sanitation, and safety
  • 2. 1 -3 years previous cooking experience preferred
  • 3. Must possess use of all kitchen equipment and report any deficiencies including knife handling skills and cooking techniques such as braising, sauté, sear and grill
  • 4. Must possess proper recipe conversion and measuring
  • 5. Serve Safe and Allergen Certification preferred
  • 6. Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings and weekends
  • 7. In process or completion of culinary education preferred
