Job summary

Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital Niles is seeking a cook to prepare hot and cold meals for patients, guests, and team members across our restaurants, room service, and grab-and-go markets. Responsibilities include line cooking, prep, vegetable prep, short order cooking, catering, and mise en place.

This part-time position offers day shifts, 25 weekly hours, with shifts from early morning to early afternoon.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of relevant experience in food preparation/serving is preferred.
• Vocational/Technical courses in food preparation are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and prepares ingredients for cooking by cleaning and cutting.
• Follows standardized recipes, calculating ingredients by weight and volume.
• Records temperatures correctly on temperature log sheets; replaces items that do not fit standards.
• Stores and labels food items, dating per standards; uses leftovers within allotted time.
• Sets up steam tables on patient and cafeteria tray lines.
• Communicates with staff to ensure continuity of service.
