Job summary

Pennswood Village is seeking an experienced Hot Cook to join the culinary team in our Pennswood Village kitchen. This full-time role offers a daytime kitchen environment with no late nights and opportunities to advance within a respected senior living community.

You will work closely with our Executive Chef and culinary team to prepare high-quality meals for residents and guests, following recipes and quality standards while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Previous hot-line cooking experience.
• 3–5 years in high-volume kitchen or food production.
• Commitment to excellent food quality and presentation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and customer-service mindset.
• Professional and dependable work habits.
• ServSafe certification is a plus.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including every other weekend and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and established quality standards
• Work the hot line and grill station in a high-volume kitchen
• Prepare high-quality food in batches and to order
• Coordinate with the culinary team to ensure meals are prepared accurately and on time
• Maintain consistent quality, presentation and portioning
• Follow food safety, sanitation and proper food-handling standards
• Monitor food usage and help minimize waste
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation using a clean as you go approach
• Assist in other areas of the kitchen as needed

What You'll Do
