Job summary

Magnolia Bluffs Casino in Natchez, MS is seeking a full-time Cook reporting to the Executive Chef. The successful candidate will prepare food according to recipes, work across multiple stations, and ensure sanitary standards are met in a fast-paced casino kitchen.

Ideal applicants have 1–3 years of related experience and a High School Diploma or equivalent; culinary school is a plus. We offer comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities in a historic riverfront setting.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years related experience in a culinary or kitchen role.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food as directed by the Sous Chef to the specifications of recipes/standards.
• Able to perform related duties in any station or outlet assigned.
• Fully versed in upscale cooking methods.
• Able to function at fry, carving, vegetable, sauté and broiler stations.
• Maintains clean and sanitary work area per Local, State and Federal Health codes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Promotes outstanding customer relations.

Located on the Mississippi River, on the site of the former Learned’s Mill that operated from 1828 until 1962, Magnolia Bluffs Casino now calls this historic land home. The casino originally opened in 2012 and is currently owned and operated by Saratoga Casino Holdings, LLC. With numerous slot machines and ample table games such as poker, blackjack, roulette and craps as well as delicious dining options, we offer a guest experience unparalleled to others. In addition to our boasting casino, we operate a beautiful hotel with the areas only saltwater pool!

We are now looking to expand our team as we continue to provide the city of Natchez with the best customer service and gaming experience possible! Our current opening is for a Cook. This position will report directly to the Executive Chef, and will be responsible for:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares food as directed by the Sous Chef to the specifications of recipes/standards.
• Able to perform related duties in any station or outlet assigned.
• Fully versed in upscale cooking methods.
• Able to effectively function in fry, carving, vegetable, sauté and broiler stations.
• Assures that the working area is clean and sanitary in accordance with Local, State and Federal Health department codes.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
• Promotes outstanding customer relations.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Graduate of culinary school preferred.

EXPERIENCE: One (1) to Three (3) years related experience.

Other:

• Able to lift and carry 50 lbs. frequently.
• Able to stand and walk for 6-8 hours.
