Job summary

Great Western Dining Service at our Moberly Area Community College location in Moberly, MO is seeking a skilled Cook to prepare delicious meals. The successful candidate will follow instructions, multitask in a fast-paced kitchen, and apply various cooking techniques.

Responsibilities include setting up stations, preparing ingredients, portioning and cooking for meals or events, maintaining sanitation, and adhering to HACCP and safety policies. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as cook.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.).
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.

• Very good communication skills.

• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.).

• Ability to follow basic recipes and production information.
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
• Follow all company HACCP and safety policies.

An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important.
