Creative Dining Services is hiring a full-time Cook at Northwood University in Midland, MI. The role involves preparing menu items, following recipes, and ensuring quality and presentation in a fast-paced campus kitchen.

You will work Sundays through Thursdays with weekends off, and the schedule may align with college semesters. Eligibility includes a high school diploma and at least 2 years of culinary experience; ServSafe is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items by following established recipes and menus to ensure freshness, quality, and visual appeal.
• Use batch cooking techniques to control production.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace at all times.
• Open/close kitchen operations as needed, securing all equipment and doors.
• Support other kitchen staff to ensure essential functions are performed properly.
• Build strong relationships with students, staff, and campus partners.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare delicious food items by following established recipes and menus, ensuring each dish shines in freshness, quality, and visual appeal.
• Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment at all times.
• If work shift requires, properly open and/or close the kitchen - unlocking/locking doors & secured areas, and turning on/turning off of all equipment essential to the operation
• Support other kitchen employees in assuring that the essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately
• Build strong relationships with students, staff, and campus partners

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 2 years of culinary experience
• ServSafe Certification Preferred
