Job summary

Zaxby’s is hiring for a Cook to join our back-of-house team in a fast-paced environment. You will help prep, cook and serve hot, fresh food while following recipes and maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities include staying aware of promotions, knowing menu items, and ensuring orders are completed accurately for front-of-house expediting. We value reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Minimum of 10 hours per week.
• No prior experience required (entry level).

• Maintain a clean, safe, welcoming environment.
• Restock stations and communicate low inventory.
• Maintain equipment and inform management of maintenance needs.
• Work efficiently during high-volume rushes without compromising quality.
• Assist in other kitchen tasks including washing dishes and taking out trash.

The individual in this position is expected to engage in the following work-related activities and complete all training requirements

• Ensure orders are hot, fresh and no missing items before giving to front of house staff for expediting
• Maintain a clean, safe, welcoming environment
• Restock stations of any necessary product and communicate low inventory
• Maintain equipment and inform management of maintenance needs
• Work efficiently especially during high-volume rushes without sacrificing quality
• Assist in other areas of kitchen tasks, including washing dishing and taking out trash
• Other work assigned

Capabilities Requirement

• Stand and walk for long periods of time
• Occasionally stoop, bend, crouch or climb, including the use of ladders
• Frequently lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds, sometime lifting overhead
• Ensure that daily cash drawers, safe and credit cards are balanced.
• Continuous use of hands and wrists for grasping and fine manipulation
• Communicate proficiently through speech, reading and writing
• Maintain effective audio-visual perception and judgement to observe and respond to the current environment
• Work in an environment that features hot and cold temperature variations and exposure to food allergens
• Safely operate restaurant equipment
• High maturity and professionalism standards
