Job summary

Inspired Education LLC is seeking a friendly, experienced cook to prepare nutritious meals for our childcare center. You will plan meals meeting nutritional requirements, ensure sanitary storage and handling, and maintain kitchen logs.

You may order food and keep related records, while coordinating with staff, students, parents, and agency personnel. The role requires basic math skills and the ability to maintain accurate records, work safely around stoves and chemicals, and endure long hours of

Responsibilities

• To plan and prepare meals that meet proper nutritional requirements.
• To ensure that food is stored and handled properly, and that the kitchen and all its equipment are thoroughly sanitary.
• To logs to track cleaning duties, and may also be responsible for ordering food and keeping records of those accounts
• Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with other staff members, students, parents and funding agency personnel.
• They should be in possession of basic mathematical skills and must be able to accomplish accurate recordkeeping.
• Must be able to work safely around stoves and chemicals while having the physical endurance to spend many hours standing, walking and lifting heavy objects.
• Deep knowledge of food storage, preparation and handling standards
• Operational knowledge of kitchen equipment, appliances and cleaning supplies
• Familiarity with food allergies and handling of food cross contamination issues
• Ability to order, procure and stock inventory of food supplies as needed
• Ability to communicate with staff, children and their families in a pleasant tone
• Interpret and follow public health regulations regarding food storage and preparation.
• Maintain proper food storage and sanitation of kitchen and food storage areas
• Additional duties assigned by the Director
