Base pay range

$16.57/hr - $19.11/hr

Summary

The cook is responsible for the daily operations of food service activities for the child care center to which they are assigned.

This position is a full-year position ~ 35 hours a week / 52 weeks per year.

Duties

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks for assigned centers.
• Adhere to menus and adapt for dietary requirements.
• Order and store food and kitchen supplies within budget guidelines.
• Shop at grocery stores and pick up surplus food as needed.
• Wash and care for dishes and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness according to health regulations.
• Keep records of food purchases and menu production.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, with coursework or experience in food preparation, budgeting, and purchasing.

6 months to 2 years of food service experience.

Knowledge of cooking procedures, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.

Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Good communication skills and ability to relate to children and parents.

Valid NH driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
