Job summary

Good Foods Co-op in Lexington, KY seeks a Cook to join our community-owned kitchen. You’ll craft prepared foods with quality ingredients, work hands-on in a fast-paced setting, and contribute to a welcoming, community-focused team.

You’ll collaborate with cooks and front-of-house to ensure quality, consistent menus, and a positive experience for every customer in our cooperative environment. You will stock and organize the kitchen, maintain safety and sanitation, and support inventory and waste

Qualifications

  • Has previous food service experience (required).
  • Enjoys cooking and working hands-on in a kitchen environment.
  • Brings a strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Values teamwork and communicates clearly and respectfully.
  • Is comfortable in a fast-paced, physically active role.
  • Has an interest in natural, organic foods and local products.
  • Is available to work evenings and weekends.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll help bring our Prepared Foods department to life each day by:

  • Preparing fresh menu items according to recipes and production needs
  • Keeping the kitchen well-stocked, organized, and efficient
  • Maintaining clean, safe, and sanitary workspaces
  • Following food safety and sanitation standards
  • Providing friendly, helpful service and creating a welcoming experience for customers
