Living Branches is a community with a 5-star CMS rating seeking a full-time Cook to support residents and guests. You will prepare hot and cold foods, follow menus, and ensure quality and safety across campuses.

The role emphasizes reliable hours so you can be home in the evenings, with opportunities to grow culinary skills in a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–4 years of restaurant or long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold foods for residents and guests.
• Follow menus/recipes and comply with standards and regulations to ensure quality.
• Prepare meals (entrée, starch, vegetables) per dietary needs and portions.
• Monitor temperatures on steam tables and document readings.
• Clean galley equipment and work areas; assist with cleaning duties.
• Assist in proper food storage and rotation.
• Provide excellent customer service across campuses.
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.

Cook Overview:

• Responsible for hot/cold food preparation to support residents and guests
• Prepares and cooks food from menus and/or recipes in accordance with current applicable Federal, State and County standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures to assure that quality food service is provided at all times
• Reviews the daily menu, prepares and cooks meals (entrée, starch, vegetables), including mechanical or therapeutic diets according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, or numbers of portions to be served
• Places food on steam tables, maintains accurate temperature on steam tables, and documents temperature of food in steam tables
• Cleans and inspects galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation. Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties and ensures work area and surroundings are clean and free of debris and clutter
• Assists in proper food storage and rotation
• Provides excellent customer service within established guidelines across all campuses
• Every other weekend and every other holiday hours required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Restaurant or Long term care experience 1-4 years, preferred
