Job summary

Citadel Healthcare is seeking a Cook to join our team at The Citadel of Kankakee. The Cook prepares and serves resident meals with proper food handling and safety to meet nutritional guidelines and safety standards, while treating residents with respect.

Responsibilities include reviewing menus, ensuring correct diets, handling administrative forms, and maintaining policy-compliant dietary procedures. This role supports timely meal production and diet changes as coordinated with nursing staff,

• Must be able to read recipes and convert ingredients to different serving sizes.
• Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.

CookQualifications and Skills:

Cook Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two or more years of cooking experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
