Camp Cayuga is hiring Food Service Staff for summer roles from Mid-June to Late-August. Responsibilities include providing nutritious meals for campers, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring food preparation standards. FOOD SERVICE STAFF:
* We are seeking food service professionals who have experience and expertise in quantity food production.
* The Food Service Staff is comprised of a Food Service Manager, First Cook (head cook), Assistant Cooks, and several kitchen helpers, all of whom have documented experience in mass food production.

FOOD SERVICE FACILITIES:
* Cayuga operates two dining halls – one on Junior Campus & the other on Teen Campus.
* All food is prepared in the main kitchen on Junior Campus.
* Kitchen Description: 3 walk-in coolers; 1 large walk-in freezer; dry food storage area; chemical storage area; and dishwashing room.
* Kitchen Equipment: 1 large tilt skillet, 4 convention ovens, 1 flat-top grill, gas burners with ovens, 4 fryolators, 3 food warmers, 1 steamer, large & small mixers, 2 slicers, 2 ice machines, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR COOK:
* Minimum age of 24 years old.
* Experience in quantity food production.
* Ability to cook for 600+ people for 3 meals a day.
* Stamina to work long days.
* Ability to manage time to ensure meals are served on time.
* Ability to lift & carry items weighing 40 lbs.
* Ability to follow direction & guidance from the Food Service Manager (FSM).
* Energetic mature individual with high moral character & good personal hygiene.
* Preferred certifications: Serv-Safe, First aid, and CPR.
* Previous summer camp employment is preferred.

COOK - RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide the highest quality of food service.
* Maintain standards set forth by Cayuga, Dept of Health, CDC and ACA regarding food preparation, serving, and storage.
* Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals for 600+.
* Follow ‘meal planner’ to prepare for each meal.
* Prepare ‘special meals’ for those with dietary restrictions (vegetarians, gluten-free, lactose intolerant).
* Prepare sufficient amount of food, and serve all meals on time.
* Assist Food Service Manager (FSM) in supervising kitchen crew members.
* Enforce proper attire of kitchen staff.
* Set-up steam tables prior to serving meals.
* Instruct meal servers regarding ‘portion control’ established by FSM.
* Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dishwashing room, dining hall, and equipment.
* Maintain the storage room & chemical storage room in an orderly fashion.
* Keep refrigerators and freezers clean & organized. All food items to be dated.
* Assist FSM in maintaining and taking inventory.
* Assist FSM with deliveries and restocking.
* Secure & lock-up the facilities at the end of each workday.
