Job summary

Foothill Acres Rehab and Nursing in Hillsborough Township, NJ, seeks a Full-time Cook to join its dining service team. The role emphasizes high-quality, nutritionally appropriate meals and adherence to safety standards in a healthcare setting.

You will follow production sheets, prepare Kosher-friendly options when needed, and collaborate with the Food Service Director to maintain a positive dining experience for residents and guests.

Qualifications

• ServSafe Certification required.
• 1-3 years of cooking experience.
• Healthcare setting experience a plus.
• Kosher experience a huge plus.
• Must be able to follow production sheets and standardized recipes.

• Handles and prepares food in accordance with federal, state and local sanitary regulations.
• Prepares nutritionally appropriate and appetizing meals, including modified consistency and therapeutic diets.
• Properly cares for dietary equipment.

• Other duties as assigned by the Director or Supervisor.

Foothill Acres Rehab and Nursing is looking for a Full-time Cook to join their team. The cook has a major impact on the atmosphere in the kitchen. We are looking for a skilled individual who takes pride in and stands behind the product that leaves your kitchen. This position works 5 days a week with every other weekend off.

Responsibilities include:

• Handles and prepares food in accordance with federal, state and local sanitary regulations.
• Prepares nutritionally appropriate and appetizing meals, including modified consistency and therapeutic diets, as directed by Food Service Director and/or Supervisor.
• Properly cares for dietary equipment.
• Follows menus and special diet instructions.
• Takes food temperatures per policy and ensures food items are prepared, cooled and stored in adherence to corporate, local, state and federal guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director or Supervisor

• Ensures resident guest satisfaction.
• Responds quickly to resident or guest requests.
• Reports any resident comments or concerns to Dining Services Manager immediately.
• Adheres to all policies and procedures of Foothill Acres.
• Attends all in-services training and pre-shift meetings.
• Handles equipment safely and quietly to minimize breakage.
• Performs all duties in adherence to Foothill Acres standards.
• Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
• Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and co-workers

Qualifications:

ServSafe Certification Required, must have a passion for cooking.

• 1-3 years of cooking experience
• Experience in a healthcare setting and Kosher experience a huge plus
• Must be able to follow production sheets and standardized recipes
