Job summary

Summit, part of Elior North America, is seeking an experienced cook to join our Hayward, WI correctional facility kitchen team. You’ll work with a motivated crew in a fast-paced, high-volume environment to prepare meals that meet strict quality and safety standards.

You’ll handle quality and portion control, food preparation, and creative presentation while following recipes and proper storage procedures. A background check is required, and a strong customer service mindset is valued in this

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of culinary experience in a high-volume, scratch-cooking environment.
• Working knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques, and standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking to add an experienced cook to work with a highly motivated and energetic kitchen staff in our Hayward, WI location for our correctional facility kitchen division. This is not your typical restaurant job. Our kitchens are structured, consistent, and community-focused. You’ll help prepare meals that keep operations in the jail running smoothly and safely.

Applicants will be required to pass a background check in accordance with any background check procedures required by the correctional facility and applicable law.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• At least one years’ prior culinary experience in a quality and high-volume establishment with an emphasis on scratch cooking

• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use various kitchen equipment and tools as well as identify and differentiate food items.
• Customer service experience is required.
