Job summary

Holland Home is seeking a Full-Time Cook for Raybrook Manor Campus in Grand Rapids, MI. Join our dining services team to prepare meals for residents and staff using standardized recipes and high-quality ingredients.

Responsibilities include station setup, food preparation from vegetables to sauces, and maintaining sanitation and safety standards. Must have 6 months to 1 year cooking experience and complete Food Safety training within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of cooking experience required, with a preference for large-scale food preparation.
• Completion of Food Safety Training for Food Service Workers within 90 days of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Prepares and cooks food for residents and staff using standardized recipes and complying with regulatory requirements.
• Assures that all prepared food items meet standards for temperature, quality, consistency, freshness, taste, and appearance.
• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
• Prepare food for service (chopping vegetables, butchering meat, crafting sauces).
• Clean up the station and take care of leftover food.
• Stock inventory appropriately.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.

• Prepares and cooks food for residents and staff using standardized recipes and complying with regulatory requirements
• Assures that all prepared food items meet standards for temperature, quality, consistency, freshness, taste, and appearance

• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Required/Preferred Experience

• Six months to one year of cooking experience required, with a preference for large-scale food preparation
• Completion of Food Safety Training for Food Service Workers within 90 days of hire

Requirements

• Working every other weekend and a holiday rotation
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift 60 pounds
• Ability to read, speak, write, and understand the English language
• Pass a basic physical
• Pass a background check

Schedule And Hours

• Full-Time: 40 hours a week
• Various Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm, 9-5:30pm
• Every other weekend required, varied shifts
• Holiday rotation required
