Job summary

New York Pizza Department - NYPD is seeking an experienced Cook for a fast-paced team environment. You will clean and inspect prep areas, ensure ingredient freshness, and manage cooking temperatures while following established recipes.

The ideal candidate has prior restaurant cook experience and holds a ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification (or is willing to obtain one). Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a restaurant cook preferred.
• ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification (or must be willing to attain).
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join our NYPD team! You will be working in a fast paced environment with a team that feels like family.

If you are passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences through good, quality food, we want you on our team! With previous experience as a cook, you are able to manage multiple priorities and contribute to a friendly and productive team atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
• Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
• Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, fryers, and stovetops
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Ability to work standing for 8+ hours
• Requires bending, twisting, and repetitive movement
• Ability to work in hot environments and with hot equipment

Qualifications:
