Job summary

The Cook position at University-Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is responsible for preparing meals following applicable standards, under the Dietitian and Director of Food Services, ensuring quality food service at all times.

This role involves reviewing menus, coordinating with departments, assisting in diet planning, and ensuring procedures meet established policies for residents' nutrition and safety.

Qualifications

• 1 year of dietary/food service experience in a hospital or care facility preferred but not required.
• State Food Service Sanitation certification is required.
• Must read, speak and write English clearly.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with residents and staff.

SUMMARY:

The Cook is responsible for food preparation in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Dietitian and/or Director of Food Services, to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• One (1) year dietary/food experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred but not required.
• Must have State Food Service Sanitation certification.
• Must be able to read, speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
• Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents, personnel, and support agencies.
