Available Shifts / Schedule

• Part-time (29 hours per week) - 6AM-2PM & 11AM-7PM - rotating shifts.

Cook - Position Summary:

Provides high quality meals at all times to residents, guests, and staff. Participates in all aspects of food production. This position may supervise other staff positions. The cook reports to the Director of Dining Services.

Cook - Responsibilities:

• Prepares all food in accordance with the daily menu planner, using standardized recipes, in a timely manner.
• Works the food line during mealtime.
• Plates food attractively and ensures condiments and garnishes are prepared and served appropriately.
• Keeps work area and equipment clean, adheres to sanitation schedules.
• Maintains proper food temperature.
• Keeps stock rooms, coolers & freezers clean; ensures food supplies are rotated, labeled, and stored properly.
• Minimizes food waste using proper storage and recycling techniques.
• Attends training, in-service, and staff meetings.
• Performs duties adhering to Morningside Elite Management standards.
• Maintains a safe working environment.
• Maintains professional demeanor with residents, visitors, and coworkers.
• Follows all policies and procedures of Morningside Elite Management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Cook - Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or 1-3 months related experience/training, or equivalent.
• Obtain/hold required food handling/sanitation licenses and certificates.
