Job summary

Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania - Elizabethtown Campus is actively seeking a Cook to deliver high-quality dining services for residents in a clean, safe environment. Positions available include full-time and part-time with day and evening shifts, and no late nights.

The Cook will follow standardized recipes, supervise food preparation, and help maintain sanitation standards while contributing to a positive dining experience for residents and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience required.
• Ability to read, understand and follow standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Strong knowledge of sanitation practices and food services regulations preferred.
• Associates degree or certificate in culinary arts preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience preparing soups, sauces and gravies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide an enjoyable dining experience while maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Follow safe handling, preparation, storage, and service of foods; monitor temperatures.
• Oversee preparation and cooking of all food items to high quality; adjust as needed.
• Produce forecasted amounts using Production Worksheets and record leftovers.
• Return disposal of food waste in a safe, hygienic manner.

Full Time and Part Time | Days & Evenings | No Late Nights!

Pay: Starting at $16.59/hr (Based on experience)

PLUS additional Weekend $1 shift differential and Evening $.50 shift differential

Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania - Elizabethtown Campus - is immediately hiring for a Cook.

As a Cook, you will carry out our Mission of Love by providing the best quality dining service, through continuous training, to maintain an enjoyable dining experience for our residents in a clean, healthy, and safe environment.

Our Cook Is Responsible For The Following

• Provides an enjoyable dining experience for our residents while maintaining a clean, healthy, and safe environment. Reports upon first notice any environmental situation which could pose a threat to the safety or well-being of the Masonic Village Residents.
• Uses best practices related to the safe and sanitary handling, preparation, storage, and service of foods, including proper hand washing, wearing gloves, changing gloves frequently, maintaining a clean uniform, sanitizing work surfaces and tools between uses, proper dating, labeling, and rotation of food products. Monitors, maintains, and documents temperatures for food and for refrigerator / freezer units. Reports out of range temperatures to supervisor upon first notice.
• Responsible for overseeing the preparation and cooking of all food items to the highest quality standards. Responsible for monitoring meals and to take appropriate corrective actions in response to identified irregularities in flavor, appearance, temperature of food products. Return disposal of food waste in safe and hygienic manner.
• Responsible for producing forecasted amounts utilizing Production Worksheets, using corrective recipe for consistency, and monitoring and recording temperatures for all food served. Documents amounts prepared and leftover to support in the management and ordering of foods.

What You Need As a Cook

• Two years of related experience required.
• Ability to read, understand and follow standardized recipes and production sheets.. Strong knowledge of sanitation practices and food services regulations preferred.
• Good written, oral, organizational, and basic computer skills.
• Associates degree or certificate in culinary arts issued by an accredited culinary school preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in place of degree or certificate where applicable.
• Experience preparing a wide variety of foods, including soups, sauces, and gravies preferred.
