Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Cook to support a Facilities O&M Services Contract. You will prepare and serve meals in banquet/buffet settings, following recipes and working under the Executive Chef's guidance.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 2 years of banquet cooking experience, Serve Safe certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days), and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance. This on-site role offers benefits and SCA‑eligible overtime.

Job description

Amentum is seeking a Cook to support a Facilities O&M Services Contract.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day‑to‑day support under culinary operations in banquet/buffet style presentation.
  • Maintain a safe workplace, ensuring safety is the highest priority.
  • Comply with Environmental Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, US Public Health Service, FDA 2009 Food Code, and site policies.
  • Follow Executive Chef instructions for detail and recipes.
  • Prepare and follow predetermined recipes for the weekly menu.
  • Prepare, assemble, cook, and serve ingredients for menu items.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other cooks to prepare meals during dining hours.
  • Provide feedback to the Executive Chef daily verbally or in writing.
  • Stock, rotate, and maintain accurate food inventories.
  • Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures per health code.
  • Clean and restock dining and kitchen areas after each shift.
  • Work in outside unconditioned environments as required.
  • Occasionally set up and serve breakfasts, brunches, and dinner in non‑typical dining areas.
  • Coordinate with the O&M supervisor for equipment or facility failures.
Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • High‑school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a cook in banquet/buffet style cooking.
  • Applicable culinary or food‑service certifications.
  • Proficiency in reading, following, and executing standardized recipes.
  • Strong knowledge of proper food‑handling procedures.
  • Team player who can work in a busy kitchen atmosphere.
  • Current Serve Safe certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
  • Computer literacy for online training, time‑keeping, and email.
  • Valid driver’s license in applicant’s home state.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fit for duty; able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and perform stoop, bend, kneel, reach, twist, and carry tasks.
  • Ability to stand 8‑10 hours per day.
  • Flexible schedule to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and multitask.
  • Problem‑solving, analytical reasoning skills.
  • Good customer‑service skills.
  • Self‑starter and highly motivated.

  • Hourly rate: $28.00‑$32.00.
